Kelong Restaurant

Rohtak, Haryana, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ

Description

Kelong is a Malaysian word for a village hut planted at the edge of the sea, made of natural material - tree trunks, leaves and reeds - as though growing out of the water. it was always in a remote quiet place because fishermen dipped their nets through the slatted floor several times during the night and brought up fresh catches of fish. Before dawn they set off to the nearest town, to sell the fish and earn a living . . . Times changed, and the catching of fish in this manner was no longer possible. But the pretty huts, with a vista of endless sea and sky, and the sound of softly lapping waves, began to be visited by others seeking to catch that elusive joy: the awareness of the soul in solitude . . . In our restaurant, we want our ambiance to bring you that sense of relaxed and soothing comfort. In our food we want you to find the joy that comes when the soul recognizes perfection.
