Janab Hassan Haji and his brothers started their first venture Hotel Colombo way back in 1952, in the erstwhile Travancore Cochin State. Hotel Colombo was an instant success, thanks to the renowned ethnic Malabar cuisine. In 2012, the hotel won the Prestigious Award for being one of the oldest in the region. The award was handed over by South Indian Megastar Mohanlal in the presence of Hon. Chief minister of Kerala Ommen Chaandy. The award has been an inspiration for all of us to improve upon what we've been doing for the past three generations. It was in 1988 that we spread our wings to the major cities of Kerala. These ventures also had lodging facilities, which wasn't in plenty during those good old times. In 1988 Salim Hassan & his late brother Rayees Hassan founded Park View Restaurant in Thalassery, the culinary capital of Kerala and a town which is known to be the epicentre of Malabar culture.
