11 Coolest Cafes in Bangalore

Cafes are central to a city – whether for meetings, dates or simply to watch the world go by. Here are some of Bangalore’s best cafes with oodles of charm and character.

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, Koramangala
This charming spot in Koramangala has an al fresco area and a cool vibe indoors. It has a quiet and calm air, which is perfect if you want to read a book and sip on a well-made Cortado. The hot and cold coffees get a thumbs up from connoisseurs. To eat there are healthy Buddha bowls, All-Day Eggs, Avocado on Toast and Vegan Waffles.

Third Wave Coffee Roasters, Indiranagar, Koramangala, HSR Layout, Richmond Road, Sadashivnagar & Whitefield
There’s the tantalizing aroma of coffee in the air and all the customers are on their Macbooks at this cool hangout that takes its coffee seriously. You can have your coffee made in a French press, poured over or in any number of classic styles. Alongside, there are omelettes, toasts and Fried Oreo for the serious sweet tooth. The free wi-fi is a big draw, too.

Teal Door Café, Indiranagar
This café spread over three levels is all kitschy and welcoming. Expect warm, personalized service when you are here. The chai that comes in earthen kulhads is highly recommended and so are the snacks and meals – ranging from mini dosa platters, to Maggi done your way.

Dyu Art Café, Koramangala
Housed in a building that resembles a traditional home, this café exudes a calm, relaxed air and provides a respite from the chaos and bustle of Koramangala. It’s also a space dedicated to art and a good place to unwind or ideate or a quiet date. The coffees are well-made and the Banoffee Pie is highly rated.

Enerjuvate Studio & Café, Kormangala & Banashankari
This one’s for those wanting a healthy coffee session and it beckons to vegans as well. There are interesting workshops and classes that will help you sweat it out before you settle down to some guilt-free eating and drinking. The menu includes healthy smoothies, millets in many forms, ragi flour momos and more.

The Rogue Elephant
This is a pleasant café set in a garden in South Bangalore. Adjacent is a store that sells plants and gardening material. The Rogue Elephant is for when you want to step away from the rush of the city and unwinds. Sip on some green tea and taste the carrot cake served with ice cream.

Café Kaara
This al fresco space in Ulsoor, near the lake, is a well-kept secret. It’s a neat little space and great for a coffee and snack or even a light meal. The food gets good ratings with freshly made pizza, pasta and baked goodies on the menu. Café Kaara also serves breakfast when you can tuck into eggs, pancakes or French toast.

Café Cassia
This is another café attached to a store. Café Cassia shares the same premises as Cinnamon, the lifestyle store in Ulsoor. Besides the well-made coffee, there are coolers to drink. The menu is eclectic with salads, pita wraps, Thai curry and apple strudel on offer.

Fresh Pressery
Here’s a café that promises a healthy experience. Fresh Pressery is in Koramangala and now also on Lavelle Road, where it’s next to the Good Earth Store. Go here for refreshing smoothies and dishes whipped up from organic ingredients.

Starbucks
If coffee chains are your thing, a Starbucks café is never hard to find. Stylish interiors and free wi-fi bring the young crowd here. Order a flat white for your caffeine kick or cappuccino. That and a big, sweet cookie should put you in a good mood. Look out for the seasonal coffee specials.

Tata Cha
This is a place for chai lovers and tea in all its desi flavours is here – from masala to adrak and cutting. The cafes with pleasant interiors are good for catching up with friends and quick meetings. With your cha, you can nibble on khari biscuits or vada pav.
