Daysie is a Great All-Day Casual Bar on MG road – Bangalore, You Must Try

What stands out when you step into the all-new Daysie on MG in Bangalore is just how bright and vibrant the space is. You see a well-lit, mirrored arched bar, a grand staircase that leads to the mezzanine floor and long frilly lights that hang from the ceiling which actually open and close of their own accord. There are backdrops to seating arrangements that play musical lights of sorts and the whole vibe is easygoing. Daysie is the brainchild of three partners, Anirudh Kheny, Neeti Gokhalay Kheny and Atul Sunder.

When at Daysie, here’s what you should try – The Superfood Salad bowl not just looks pretty but packs a mighty punch of flavour without the calories. You may think the Salmon Papdi Chaat will not work but it’s quite amazing how the many flavours come together with the sizable roll of salmon on each papdi. The Haleem Butter Toast warrants seconds, thirds and fourths if you have the space for it. Paying homage to the River Cauvery is the Kaveri Jhinga – freshwater prawns with curry leaves and rose petals chargrilled. For grilled seafood lovers, the Tandoori Paplet is what you should order. Among the flatbreads – the top pick would be the Blue Cheese and Poached Pears.

The large plates take you on a trail of India and have a great selection of Asian dishes as well. So whether it’s a good old Ghosht Biryani you are craving or some Kung Pao or Hunan-style lamb with rice, Daysie has got you covered.

Round off your meal here with the Saffron & Rose Tres Leches, which melds Indian flavours into this Mexican dessert quite nicely. The Textures of Coffee is a must-try here.

Daysie has quite an interesting bar program – from signature cocktails to twisted classics to a category of sub-continental cocktails that pair well with Indian food. There is a dedicated section for all G&T lovers and a choice of Community Cocktails. Especially for those with a sweet tooth, who love a drink with their cocktail, the Dessert Cocktails are something to check out. And if you are really looking to party, a remarkable set of Long Island Iced Teas infused with homemade brines, teas and floral notes with white spirits are what you should check out.

Whether it’s brunch or a late lunch, whether it’s noon or nightfall, whether you’re calling it a day or you want to make yours - for any time and any day, Daysie is the spot for you!
