What could be more memorable than a royal photograph with a Nawab who was crowned at the age of 11 months! Or a begum whose culinary talent is well known! The Garden Palace, Balasinor is the private residence of the Royal family of Balasinor and is set amidst lush green fields and gardens and was built in 1883 by HH Nawab Mohammad Manowarkhanji Babi. The Garden Palace built in 1883 was once used by the Diwan of Balasinor and was the Bageecha or Garden haven of the royals of Balasinor. The royal family shifted here in 1940s after their main palace called the Navchokia Palace was destroyed in a major fire during the British Raj. In recent times it has been converted into a Heritage Homestays by the present ruler HH Nawab Mohammad Salabat Khan and his wife, Begum Farhat Sultana and ably run by their son Nawabzada Sultan Salauddin Khan Babi and daughter Nawabzadi Aaliya Sultana Babi. Each Palace room is differently sized as these were not meant to be Homestays rooms but part of a palace. They are like a super deluxe style of a regular hotel. These are beautifully and uniquely done up Palace Rooms on the ground floor of the Garden Palace. Each room has old period furniture, comfortable beds, age old photos and antique knick knacks and has different paint hues. They are sure to remind you of the royal past. All rooms have modern LED TVs with Tata Sky offering various channels for our guests. The rooms all have their own Tea/coffee Kettles with a choicest selection of Teas. In Room Telephones are also provided in each room. The Palace rooms have their ensuite modern bathrooms tastefully redone. The bathrooms have pressurized water both hot and cold and also Showers. 2 Tented Cottages with all modern facilities and ensuite bathrooms of our sister concern – Camp Dinosaur are also available for guests use.
