Ghanerao Jungle Lodge is located at the edge of Kumbhalgarh National Park and is wonderfully situated being surrounded by the natural beauty of the Aravalli Hills and the local trees and flora which have been allowed to flourish within the grounds. Although the original building is over 80 years old, it has recently undergone extensive refurbishment and now offers 7 comfortably appointed rooms, each based on an animal theme. The lodge is ideally situated for visiting the Kumbalgarh National Park which in addition to the sloth bear, leopard, sambhar, wild boar, Jungle cat that can be sighted, is the only location in Rajasthan where the four horned deer and Indian wolves can be seen. Also adjoining the lodge is the Muchala Mahavir Temple, a 10th century Jain temple which is well worth a visit and the Garacia tribal village which gives a wonderful and, as this area is relatively unexplored, an unspoilt insight into the tribal life of Rajasthan. This is an ideal place for people interested in natural flora and fauna and for peace and spiritualism as it takes you away from the cities and allows you to explore in peace and tranquility.
