Rose Cottage is a boutique hotel in Hartola its 340 kms from New Delhi. Perched at 7300 feet. It offers breathtaking views of snow-covered Himalayas, like Nanda Devi India's 2nd highest peak. It's set amidst fruit orchards, Rose Cottage overlooks forests & rolling hills. It's perfect for a family holiday or a romantic getaway. Kathgodam/ Haldwani are the closest train stations 75 kms. Rose Cottage is designed to use minimal electricity during the day with natural light streaming in from its large windows. ROSE COTTAGE,HARTOLA - A TRUELY GREEN BUILDING. We have recently installed a 350 liter Evacuated Tube Solar Geyser which provides Hot Water to our Kitchen and the Bathrooms. Most of our lights are Energy Savers. We are now in the process of installing a comprehensive Solar Inverter for the entire Rose Cottage. Our wet waste is composted and we recycle all other material. WE also sponsor the plantation of a 1000 OAK Trees each year (4000 Trees have been planted in the last 4 years) in the forests of Hartola and the surrounding villages. This year we have started a nursery to grow indigenous saplings so we can treble the number of trees we plant each year to 3000. ROSE COTTAGE, HARTOLA Supports the village Community School we have recently painted the school, provided an Electricity Connection, Built the main Retaining Wall, Built toilets, provided new furniture and study material.
