Masque, Worli

The sophisticated interiors and stylish décor make Masque a great contender for one of the most romantic restaurants in Mumbai. It’s also the city if not the country’s first ingredient-driven restaurant where menus highlight regional Indian dishes. If you’re looking for the entire Masque dining experience, then we recommend opting for their 10-course set menu.

Tres Ind, BKC

Tres Ind is the younger sibling of Dubai’s award-winning restaurant. This Mumbai edition is a spectacular culinary experience unlike any other in the city. It’s one of the few restaurants with a fixed course menu (no a la carte here) where each course is inspired by a region or Indian dish. There are some interesting courses like Arugula Pani Puri with Feta Cream or a Khandvi Ice Cream with Pickled Papaya and Chilli. It’s a meal fit for a celebration and the entire experience along with some theatrics makes for a rather romantic meal.

EKKA, Fort

If you’re looking for a quiet spot with stylish interiors and sensational food to impress your date, Ekka has got you covered. It’s another restaurant where the food is inspired by ingredients, and not so much a particular cuisine. The menu is a mix of inspiration from all over, right from Bombay Duck with Gor Keri, Fish Floss and Cucumber to Citron Aged Duck with White Miso, Pearl Barley, and Port Wine. You can pick from the a la carte menu or leave it up to the chef and opt for their 10-course tasting menu. Either way, it’s a culinary experience worthy of date night.

OPA Kipos, Worli

The only restaurant in Mumbai that doesn’t just serve Greek food but gives you an authentic Greek experience. Step inside and the blue and white themed décor makes you feel like you’re at a tavern in Santorini. There’s a lot of traditional Greek singing and dancing, where guests are encouraged to join in and also the famous plate smash where piles of ceramic plates are smashed to the ground with great fervour. It’s all one big celebration but there are some quieter more secluded tables to ensure your privacy should you wish to not join in the revelry.

Timings: 7:00 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

Estella, Juhu

What makes Estella unique is that it’s one of the few restaurants in Mumbai with an enviable sea-facing view. Get there early so you can catch the sunset with one of their special cocktails before you kick off dinner. The menu is inspired by contemporary Australian cuisine and includes dishes like Surf and Turf, Grilled Pork Chops, and Ravioli with Spinach and Ricotta. This is a popular restaurant for romantic proposals and celebrations.

Bayview Café, Colaba

Not every romantic restaurant in Mumbai needs to burn a hole in your wallet. Bayview offers a lovely open-air rooftop experience with a view of the sea at a fraction of the cost it would elsewhere. The menu has simple food with crowd-pleasers like Chinese spring rolls, Tibetan dim sum, tandoori tikkas, and biryani. It’s also a great spot for a romantic breakfast by the sea.

Timings: 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Olive Bar & Kitchen, Khar

Without a doubt, Olive Bar & Kitchen is one of the city’s most romantic dinner spots. With its blue and white décor and cobblestone-like flooring, Olive will have you feeling like you’re dining near a beach in Greece. There are two sections, one open air which has the better ambience but there’s a smaller indoor air-conditioned section for those who can’t handle the heat. A Mediterranean-style menu, lots of cocktails, fabulous music, and candle-lit tables make for a romantic meal.

Timings: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Address: Olive Bar & Kitchen, 14, Union Park, Nargis Dutt Road, Khar, Mumbai, Maharashtra
